It is confirmed that former CS Interior Ministry Dr Fred Matiang’i travelled out of the country without raising eyebrows. The CS is embattled with the current Kenya Kwanza regime, which seems to be hitting back at him, as a revenge mission due to the way he handled them in the previous regime.
There were claims that police officers secretly went to his home to arrest him but disappeared after a contingent of politicians and lawyers appeared at his home to rescue him.
Police officers on another day went and broke into Dr Matiang’i home and got away with his home CCTV unit claiming to investigate who were the people who previously visited his home. But it was alleged that the police officers took the CCTV away to delete the evidence.
Dr Fred Matiang’i was recently summoned by the DCI recently to appear for interrogation but didn’t turn up. His lawyer Danstan Omari claimed that CS Matiang’i wasn’t personally served with any summons. But it has emerged that Dr Fred Matiang’i secretly travelled out of the country on February 19th to Amsterdam via KLM Jet.
It is not clear whether he fled the current regime persecution. But as reports indicate, Dr Matiang’i might have fled the Kenya Kwanza persecution since it is perceived as witch hunting the former CS for standing against them in the previous regime.
The Kenya Kwanza government is investigating corruption allegations against the former CS since he joined government. Unfortunately, this could be a scapegoat to hit back at him as a revenge mission.
