Mathira MP Rigathi Gachagua has dismissed reports that Deputy President William Ruto had promised leaders a share in his government.
The lawmaker said the reports were exaggerated and Ruto had not promised anybody anything, said Gachagua during an interview on KTN.
“From where I sit, I know Deputy President William Ruto has not promised anybody anything. The decision is his. I can assure you whatever decision he makes will get our full backing,”said the Rigathi.
The lawmaker explained that the only thing Ruto promised them were economic goodies for their people and that he would be held accountable if he fails to deliver that.

Gachagua further dismissed talks on Ruto having a final say in every decision within the coalition. He stated that they discuss all matters before making final decisions.
H also added that the decision on who becomes Ruto’s running mate belongs only to him since he knows the qualities he needs in a deputy.
