Many Kenyans are struggling due to consequences brought about by bad leadership and COVID-19 pandemic. The country is on a nose dive as far as the economy is concerned. Most Kenyans are really struggling to put food on the table. The country is at its moments of “no taking chances” with leadership to prevent any further deterioration of the economy.

As the country heads to general elections, Kenyans must ponder hard on decisions about voting. Kenyans must make decisive decisions on electing competent leaders with good integrity. Otherwise, the next term will be an extremely difficult and tumultuous one. If we make wrong decisions on our voting trend, we must be prepared to take the hardship bullet.

The August 2022 presidential elections will be a two horse race between Hon Raila Odinga and DP Ruto. It is predetermined that Raila Odinga will win elections, having a huge influence sphere compared to Ruto, who precisely enjoys Rift Valley support and a substantial slice of Mt Kenya residents.

Apparently, Raila Odinga is gaining an encouraging grip on Mt Kenya votes, giving DP Ruto sleepless nights on figuring out how to sustain the momentum of votes in Mt Kenya region. It is four months to the general elections hence, politicians are chasing time in order to sustain or gain ground on substantial votes all over the country.

Surprisingly, most Kenyans have made decisions on whom to vote for. Swing votes will play an imperative role towards determining the president of Kenya. The promises made by presidential candidates may influence the swing votes. Hon Raila Odinga has explicitly promised unemployed Kenyans a stipend of 6K Shillings.

The 6K may seem little on individual level but huge amounts of money collectively. This will boost the economy and improve the lives of many Kenyans. This is a promise that Raila Odinga must fulfill immediately he acquires power. It is something any Kenya will be able to measure whether it would have been fulfilled or not.

The Baba care is also another substantial promise that Raila Odinga must implement once he assumes office. Otherwise, Kenyans will be asking him, and will retire a disoriented president if he won’t fulfill these two standing out promises by the expiry of his presidency.
