The annual World Happiness Report ranked Kenya at number 119 and Uganda was ranked at number 117 out of 146 countries in global happiness. Uganda was the top happiest in the East Africa region. Rwanda was ranked the unhappiest in the region.

Mauritius island took first place as the happiest nation in Africa ranked at position 44 worldwide followed by Libya, Cote d’Ivoire, South Africa and the Gambia. Tanzania was ranked 139th, and Ethiopia was ranked 131st.

The Nordic countries were the top happiest countries worldwide, Finland being at the top for four years in a row followed by Denmark, Switzerland, Iceland and Netherlands.

Kenya’s ranking was weighed down by high corruption index. Although Kenya’s economy is the largest and most developed in Eastern Africa and even in Central Africa.

The index looks at different variables including GDP per capita, social support, freedom, generosity, healthy life expectancy and corruption. In the long-term, the Kenya GDP is estimated to trend around 107.00 USD Billion in 2022 and 110.00 USD Billion in 2023, according to the econometric models.

It is important to be happy and ensure that those around us are happy by exploring ways to stay happy and eliminating negativity. The world is full of sad people with happy pictures.
