The government must redefine Konza city for agility purposes in order to gain a competitive edge. The initial Konza city is obsolete with the dynamics and drastic changes and transformation in technology.
Moreover, the country cannot put technology hub in one location. Technology is a critical infrastructure in modern economies. Hence, robustness is a critical element in information technologies. Another factor to consider is the fact that, technology investments are targets in case of a war.
Cloud computing is also a very considerable factor in most companies, as most of them try to push away the costs and responsibilities associated with technology ownership. Cloud technologies have enabled most companies to afford very sophisticated and secure information systems.
The most pertinent question to ask, is whether Cloud Computing will spare the Konza city? It will if, there is state of the art and affordable technologies invested in Konza city. Otherwise, it will be a dead dream.
Most Kenyan companies have heavily invested in cloud computing with foreign vendors, hence, convincing them to turn to Konza city will be an uphill task.
