Today I need to share a few issues with our youths whom am indebted to. In many occasions as I grew up, I have heard most leaders talk about our youths, especially during the campaign period. Our leaders put youths at heart as their machinery for their campaigns. This is the time the youths are used to the maximum in all aspects, but after the electioneering period is over, it goes down with them.
Now, what worries me is, whether our youths no their potential. Do they know they have a say in elections? Do they know they can stop these leaders from doing the messes that are being experienced from them?
I have not seen any leader coming up with any economic empowerment plan stipulated to empower the youth for economic sustainability, just to reduce the scramble for the few job opportunities in the market.
In my own view, our leaders need to understand that, it’s an obligation and sacred responsibility for them as leaders to understand the needs of their electorate, especially the youths to mutually be accommodated to their economic development master plan, if at all they are ready to over sensible leadership.
To make my case, a serious leader should have the following characteristics in his leadership plan;
1. Accountability
2. Resourceful
3. Innovative
4. Humanity
5. Operational
6.Accessible
7. Informative
8. Good listener
9. Focused
10. Adjustable
11. Trustful
12. Well connected with networks and finally
13. Big heart
To sum up, a good leader should seek first the wisdom to transform his constituents, to understand the state of the current lifestyle, and its challenges that are there in so that they can be able to embrace the new strategies, and innovations that can easily be adopted to improve their economic, social and political issues that are being experienced. This can only be possible if there is a responsible leader with a very wealth heart.
Finally, by doing all the above, we will curb more problems of unemployment, social disorder and political dependence that has been the order of the day. Thank you all that will have taken their time to read this item and make an informed decisions.
