Police have seized alcoholic drinks bearing fake Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) stamps in Pipeline, Nakuru County.

Police estimated the seized commodities to be worth Ksh.730,000.

“The consignment had a total of 125 cartons filled with assorted alcoholic drinks,” police said.

According to the authorities the government would have lost tax revenue of ksh342 482.

Detectives from the economic crimes’ unit carried out the raid with the assistance of KRA representatives.

“At least 120 cartons of assorted alcoholic drinks affixed with counterfeit KRA stamps were recovered,” police added.

In the meantime, attempts to arrest the owner of the business are underway.
