Christianity was used as a scheme to pave way for colonialists to go to Africa. They went to Africa as Christians, where Africans perceived them as people with a good cause, only to short change. Religion has created more problems than solutions in Africa. There are more churches in Africa than any other part of the world, causing a significant colonization of mind.
Christianity is being used by politicians in disguise as good leaders to hoodwink the population into voting for them. They hide in Christianity to lure the population into believing that they are good people. We have also witnessed situations where those who perceive to be strong Christians isolate and discriminate against those they perceive are not strong Christians, which is against Jesus teachings.
Africans are divided along Christian church denominations. We are the same color but divided along religious lines. It is unfortunate how Christianity has become a dragon in our society. The Bible has good teachings. But such teachings have been misinterpreted and camouflaged to confuse and blackmail the vulnerable ones in the society.
Poverty stricken societies have run to Christianity as a first life of refuge. Unfortunately, it is doing little good to them. My view is that, we must disassociate our challenges from religion. We should deal with our problems scientifically, politically or socially. Religion will always create more problems when the population surrender every situation to God.
Christianity is cunning hence, we must always be careful with those in charge. Read the Bible by yourself and understand it by yourself. It has great teachings if people can learn by themselves. It is okay for preachers to do their job but individuals should perceive the Bible independently. The modern preachers similarly use Christianity to their own advantage.
We have lately witnessed bad stuff being performed by preachers on their congregations. Some caning their followers, others letting their congregations drink their urine, praying to naked women etc. simply because of brainwashing their followers. This is modern slavery of the mind.
While I lived in Sweden, I could barely get a church. Luckily I got one composed of Africans. I hear that Norway and Finland too have limited number of churches. But those countries are very developed( best social services, healthcare, security, housing etc.). Solving problems is based on human ability and commitment.

We need to dismantle our mindsets from religion inclination, and focus on using the opportunities God has presented to us to improve our society/our countries. Kenyans have gone to an extend of saying “mungu ndio anachagua viongozi”, and I ask myself why then vote? People make wrong choices and expect miracles from God. It is not practical at all. That is the far Christianity has messed up our mindset.
We have people who technically live in churches praying everyday. They don’t want to know how to pay for their bills, food, school fees for their kids etc. God wants hardworking people and doesn’t advocate for laziness at all. Africa is the worst hit with Christianity reliance in solving problems. But that doesn’t seem to work.
