A bus attempting to cross river Enziu in mwingi, Kitui county was swept away by the swollen Enziu river. The driver insisted on crossing through the river resulting to over 20 people dead. According to Kitui county Governor Charity Ngilu, 17 survivors were rescued and 21 bodies recovered so far. The rescue and recovery mission was on course. 

The victims were headed to attending a wedding on 4th December; Saturday when they met the tragedy. Kenyans are advised to be careful during this rainy season. Drivers are as well cautioned to avoid crossing swollen rivers. It is dangerous as most rivers are overflowing during this season of plenty of rains.
