Witchcraft practicing has been in existence even before Christ. From the dictionary witchcraft is the
the practice of magic, especially black magic; the use of spells. Children and goods were believed to be vulnerable to the witchcraft of jealous neighbors

According to Wikipedia, “Witchcraft is the practice of what the practitioner (“witch“) believes to be supernatural skills and abilities, such as the casting of spells and the performance of magical rituals“.

Some members of a community might be practicing the black magic to show their mighty and with an assumptions that it protects them from other witchcrafts.

Witchcrafts also use it to punish their neighbors or relatives for jealous reasons for them being progressive or prospering. I have heard about witchcraft practicing since I was a little boy. The reality is that witchcraft practicing exists up-to now in the modern times.

Witchcrafts do their activities in the dark(night). They meet as a huge crowd, hold meetings, have registers on who to kill or punish next. They run while flashing lights at night. There are unsubstantiated claims that they are also sorcerers.

Witchcraft drags a society in terms of development and knowledge since people live in fear that if they build nice homes or their kids prosper, witchcrafts will go after them. When people fear executing activities that will make their lives better, the society lags behind.

It is very critical for most people to be enlightened on the side effects of witchcraft practicing. It has no any productive benefits to the owners as well as the community at large.

We must work hard in suppressing this practice through civilized means. The recent setting ablaze of elderly people in Kisii count for being witchcraft suspects is criminal and barbaric.

Mob justice is a criminal activity, since it has no systematic way of reaching guilty of a person. It is executed under speculations. The perpetrators must be brought to book and face the full force of law. That was terrifying and horrendous experience to the deceased and their families.
