Deputy President William Ruto is seeking reconciliation with his boss, after his prolonged rebellion and divergent leadership style, contrary to the norm where a deputy President is supposed to be the president’s assistant.

He has recently sought to reconcile with president Uhuru Kenyatta after realizing that, his hard stance is not yielding any political benefits for him and his UDA team. The President has always vowed to focus on development for now until the expiry of his 2nd term next year.

The Deputy President started campaigning immediately after 2017 general election, which didn’t auger well with the president, who repeatedly advised leaders to focus on development. The President didn’t like the idea of immediately going back to campaigns, after an election.

Deputy President and his team were apparently against the handshake between President Uhuru and Rt Raila Odinga, right from its onset. But the President didn’t given them a chance to manipulate him the way they did in his first term. The President downed his political tools and focused on development agenda for the country.

The hard stance of president Uhuru has foreseen tremendous development in various sectors of the country, especially the infrastructure part. If the President began what he is doing from his first term, the country could have made wide strides in development.
