Politics in Kenya are extremely dynamic as politicians shift parties in search of their selfish interests. This leaves most Kenyans wondering whether politicians are guided by leadership tenets. This trend of politics has been in existence for more than a decade now.

Most Politicians in Kenya are involved in suspicious deals basically to enrich themselves quickly. This also contributes to political volatility in the country. Some junior politicians have been promised lucrative positions or tenders if their master wins presidency. This has motivated junior politicians to drum for their masters day and night.

Unfortunately, the poor are left languishing in poverty. There is little effort on the side of politicians to coin policies, and projects that are economy stimulating to create employment for common citizens. Apparently, they spend more time in the back end scheming on acquiring power and shoddy deals.

Such politicians appear in public surprisingly to drum up for their masters, especially now that we are approaching general elections in 2022. They misuse the youths and women through blackmail and dishing out handouts. This has tilted our country towards man eat society, where politicians care more about power, their businesses and their families.

The judiciary has totally failed to stop some of these corrupt politicians. This is due to the fact that, there is money exchange for justice. Corrupt politicians steal from public coffers, and hire best lawyers, who know how to maneuver in the corridors of justice, to bribe the judges to sabotage corruption cases.

Tribal politics is another cancer in the political terrain. Tribal kingpins have always misused their communities for political gain in disguise of fake promises. This has compromised most Kenyans, who feel obliged to vote for their own. This has also given a clear ticket to corrupt politicians in acquiring power in the country.

Therefore, creating awareness among Kenyans may improve voting trend as well as the quality of leadership in the country. Former president Kibaki regime brought tremendous development in the country. Most Kenyans realized the benefits of a good leader. Unfortunately, tribalism and deep state have always compromised Kenyans influence in electing a competent president.

Let’s hope that Kenyans will see light at the end of the tunnel. But that solely relies on our decisions as Kenyans. If we want a better country, we must sacrifice and bury tribalism. And vote in deserving leaders, who can boost the country positively to create employment for our youths.
